NIQUAT – Paraquat Dichloride 24% SL is a fast-acting non-selective contact herbicide formulated as a soluble liquid (SL). It provides rapid and effective control of a wide range of annual and perennial weeds in agricultural fields, plantations, orchards, and non-crop areas. NIQUAT works by destroying green plant tissues on contact, ensuring quick weed desiccation and facilitating easier field preparation for the next crop cycle.
Photosystem I Inhibitor: Paraquat Dichloride interferes with photosynthesis by accepting electrons from photosystem I → generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) → causes rapid cell membrane destruction and plant tissue death.
Contact Action: Rapidly absorbed by green tissues → acts only where applied → does not translocate within the plant.
Non-Selective Herbicide: Controls most types of annual and perennial weeds, grasses, and broadleaf plants.
Fast and effective weed control – Provides visible burn-down of green weeds within hours.
Suitable for non-crop and pre-planting areas – Ideal for clearing fields, orchards, pathways, and industrial sites.
Prepares fields quickly – Helps in quick removal of weeds before crop sowing or planting.
Easy handling and application – Soluble liquid formulation mixes uniformly in water for consistent spray coverage.
Cost-effective solution – High efficacy at low dosage, reducing labor and time.
Environmentally favorable short residual activity – Breaks down rapidly in soil, reducing long-term environmental impact.
Use Areas: Non-crop areas, pre-planting fields, orchards, plantations, industrial sites.
Dosage: 1.0–2.0 liters per hectare in 200–400 liters of water, depending on weed density.
Timing: Apply on actively growing green weeds; avoid drought-stressed or dormant weeds.
Method of Application: Uniform foliar spray ensuring complete coverage of green weed surfaces.
Precautions:
Use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Do not allow spray drift onto desirable plants.
Apply only under calm weather conditions (no wind).
Avoid crop contact during application.
