PARTISAN – Metsulfuron Methyl 20% WP is a highly effective selective post-emergence herbicide formulated as a wettable powder (WP). It provides excellent control of broadleaf and grassy weeds in wheat and other cereal crops. PARTISAN helps maintain a weed-free crop environment by inhibiting weed growth at an early stage, promoting healthy crop development, improving nutrient uptake, and maximizing crop yield and quality.
ALS (Acetolactate Synthase) Inhibitor: Metsulfuron Methyl inhibits the acetolactate synthase enzyme → prevents synthesis of essential branched-chain amino acids in weeds → stops weed cell division and growth → leads to weed death.
Systemic Post-Emergence Activity: Absorbed by leaves and roots → translocated throughout the weed → controls emerged and emerging weeds.
Selective Action: Targets broadleaf and grassy weeds while remaining safe for wheat and cereals when used at recommended rates.
Broad-spectrum weed control – Controls wild mustard, chickweed, wild oats, and other broadleaf and grass weeds.
Improves crop establishment and yield – Reduces weed competition for light, water, and nutrients, promoting vigorous wheat growth.
Long residual control – Provides effective weed management for up to 20–30 days.
Easy application and mixing – Wettable powder formulation mixes uniformly in water for efficient spray.
Crop-safe formulation – Specifically designed for wheat and cereal crops when applied as recommended.
Resistance management solution – Unique mode of action helps delay resistance development in weeds.
Crops: Wheat and other cereal crops.
Dosage: 15–25 grams per hectare in 200–300 liters of water.
Timing: Apply post-emergence at 2–3 leaf stage of weeds (20–30 days after crop emergence).
Method of Application: Uniform foliar spray covering the whole weed canopy.
Precautions:
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Avoid overdose to prevent crop phytotoxicity.
Do not apply in extreme heat or heavy rainfall.
